Microsoft Corp. pulled a "click to activate" alert Internet Explorer 7 starting next month, a product manager of the company said on Thursday, one side benefit of the solution that Microsoft struck with colas Technologies Inc., in August .

Next month, Microsoft preview of changing Internet Explorer (IE) which removes the caveat that has been bothering on the screens when users select multimedia content, such as clicking on a link to a file or a Flash PDF file. That notice was published for the first time in IE in April 2006, when Microsoft began to users requiring active controls approve the first time it is executed from the browser.

The settlement with Eolas - which followed $ 521 million in 2003, ruling against Microsoft for patent infringement in a dispute between the two companies - paved the way for Microsoft to license Eolas' technology, which in turn means that IU could ditch "click to activate."

"It is important to note that this change does not require modifications to existing Web pages, and no new shares for developers creating new pages," said Le Page. "We are simply returning to old behavior."
